3D ribbons are a very popular feature used on many websites, and knowing how to create a stylish 3D ribbon will be a handy addition to your design skillset.
In ths tutorial I'm going to show you how to create a beautiful 3D ribbon in Photoshop from start to finish.
This is what we are going to create.

Create a new document in Photoshop with width of 600 pixels and a height of 380 pixels.

To make things easier and to make sure that both sides of the ribbon will be of equal size, set up your guides as shown in the image below.
To add a guide ensure that view extras and view rulers are checked (under the view menu).
Then, click on the left ruler and drag to the place in the document you would like to add your guide, and repeat this for every guide you add.

Set your foreground color to #efefef and then select the Rectangle Tool.
Then, draw a rectangle in the two inner guides you set up.

Rename the new layer to Content

Right-click on the name of the layer and select Blending Options.
Check the stroke option under Styles and use the settings as shown below.

You should end up with this

Select the Rectangle Tool and draw a rectangle in between the two outer guides as shown below.

Rename this layer to Ribbon, and then set your foreground color to #2d74ac and your background color to #4da3dc
Right-click on the name of the Ribbon Layer and select Blending Options.
Check the Gradient Overlay option in the Styles pane, and use the settings as outlined below.

Click on the gradient dropdown above and select Foreground to Background

You should now end up with the following.

Right-click on the ribbon layer and select Blending Options.
Select the Inner Glow option under the Styles pane, and use the settings as outlined below.

You should end up with this

Select the rectangle tool, and draw a new layer as outlined below.
Then, set the layer color to #2d74ac

Rename the layer to Left

Select the layer and press cmd + T (mac) or ctrl + T (PC), then right-click in the layer selection, select Skew, and then drag the lower right corner down.

Results with guides hidden

Duplicate the Left layer by dragging it onto the new layer icon, then select the duplicated layer and rename it to Right.

Make sure the Right layer is selected and press cmd + T (mac) or ctrl + T (PC), and then select Flip Horizontal.

You should end up with the following.

Drag this layer to the right.

You should end up with this.

Add some text by selecting the Text Tool.

Select both the text layer and the Ribbon layer

Go to the Layer menu and select Align - > Vertical Centers.

Set your foreground color to #1d1d1d and your background color to #747474

Right-click on the text layer, select Blending Options and apply the following settings as shown below.

Inner Shadow settings

Gradient Overlay settings

Select Foreground to Background
