In 1529, Geofroy Tory, French scholar, engraver, printer, publisher and poet, was releasing the well know so called "Champ Fleury", printed by Gilles de Gourmond, in Paris. It is a completely illustrated handbook where the author discusses how to draw Roman characters. The typeface utilized for the text - an Humane/Jenson type - was not a very stunning one, however rough and prepared, but the book is popular for its Uppercase designs.

The text font "1529 Champ Fleury Routine" is now containing all characters for West European (including Celtic), Baltic, East and Central European and Turkish language, and the Initial set "1529 Champ Fleury Initials" is including two complete alphabets, with an extremely fantastic effort to be as close as possible to the original pictures.
