This re-thought edition takes the name of Aanaar and joins our library with a bigger character set and two new weights which finish the typeface supplying a huge typographic combination along with including stylistic two-story a and g for more advanced readers in addition to enable the typeface to be used in other environments.
The typeface was originally designed for kids's text books. Analysing kid's typeface style, we identified some crucial issues and solved them within the limits we had. The primary issue in a typeface which will be utilized by kids is letter acknowledgment, as they have not yet fully develop their reading skills. For example, letters like "a" and "g" share a very similar structure in this particular kind of typefaces, where the only distinct part is the descender of the "g". It is understood that the lower part of the letter is the lesser function when reading, therefore we decided to make a clear distinction between them by having an "a" with a spur on the top right. This also assisted differentiating "a" and "o". Children typefaces usually have one story "a", making "a" usually too near "o". Additionally we moved the joint in "a" upwards and narrowed extremely a little the "a" to make certain they can not be mistaken.
More generally, the x-height is relatively tall and the typeface has a little motion which give it an excellent rhythm helping moving along perfectly when reading. Aanaar consists of 5 weights (Light, Regular, Medium, Strong and Black) plus 2 Italics (Light Italic and Italic).
