Aceituna implies 'olive' in Spanish. It originates from the Arabic Al-Zeitoun. I am multi-tasking today: finishing this typeface and thinking of what to cook for my household tonight (yes, I am the one who cooks!). We usually eat Asian food, however I was toying with the idea of serving something Mediterranean and realised we had actually lacked olives. So there you have it: the super basic technique of calling a new font!
But enough of cooking: Aceituna font style was made with a Japanese brush pen. It is a really flexible typeface: tall and thin, elegant and a little untidy. A hint of texture and, like olives, it opts for nearly anything.
