Aila is a surprising piece serif constructed on the structure of a reasonable Roman, however with unique natural functions that make this typeface a workout in stress between structure and rhythm. This expressive stress is shown in much heavier designs (Aila Strong and Aila Black), and is strongly obvious in the italic types. Aila's italics provide an interesting re-interpretation of the cursive ductus of timeless italic forms, to provide rhythmic and speedy variants, which are the perfect counterpoint to the regular set in body text.
Each style of the Aila family provides an extended character set specially developed for editorial style projects.
