Aila includes 8 styles and family package options. p > Aila is a surprising slab serif built on the structure of a reasonable Roman, but with special natural functions that make this typeface an exercise in tension between structure and rhythm. This expressive stress is shown in much heavier designs (Aila Strong and Aila Black), and is highly evident in the italic forms. Aila's italics provide a fascinating re-interpretation of the cursive ductus of traditional italic types, to offer rhythmic and swift variants, which are the perfect counterpoint to the regular set in body text.

Each style of the Aila family uses an extended character set specially created for editorial style jobs.
