Berthold Wolpe created
Albertus, his second typeface, for Monotype in between 1932 and 1940.
Albertus was first available just as a titling font style, until 1940, when the lowercase was added. Modeled on letters that Wolpe sculpted out of bronze, the sharp serifs are formed by an easy widening of the stems.
Albertus has a distinct sophistication that stands apart in display screen settings such as headlines, titles, and business packaging.
