A rounded, friendly version of Albioa, a contemporary slab-serif which reviews aspects of Robert Besley's traditional Clarendon.
Subsequently extended by Stephenson Blake in the 1950s, Albiona includes the inwardly-curved stroke terminals of the very same foundry's Grotesque series, and includes italics and old-style and tabular characters. The original Clarendon's ball serifs and calligraphic eccentricities have been rationalized and streamlined for functional modern uses.
The family includes 5 weights plus italics and a stencil, and its tidy readable style is perfect for both extended text along with heading setting.
