Designed by Isabella Chaeva, Aldine BT is a serif font household. This typeface has 4 styles and was released by ParaType.

Aldine 401 is a Bitstream version of Bembo type family. It was designed on the base of art work of Francesco Griffo for Aldus Manutius. The very first time the font appeared in "De Aetna" in 1495-- the book by Pietro Bembo about his journey to Mount Etna. Griffo's style is among the first old style typefaces, it was followed by Garamond and the leader for the standard text enters Europe for the next 2 centuries. A contemporary variation was designed in Monotype under the guidance of Stanley Morison the in 1929 and got the name Bembo. Until now Aldine 401 is still preferred in book style due to its well-proportioned traditional letterforms and lack of peculiarities. The italic was based upon the handwriting of Giovanni Tagliente of the start of 16th century. Books and other texts set in Aldine 401 can include a big variety of topics and formats because of its peaceful classical charm and its high readability. Cyrillic variation was established by Isabella Chaeva and launched by ParaType in 2008.
