Alegreya is a typeface initially meant for literature. Amongst its crowning characteristics, it conveys a dynamic and differed rhythm which helps with the reading of long texts. Likewise, it supplies freshness to the page while referring to the calligraphic letter, not as a literal analysis, but rather in a modern typographic language.
The italic has simply as much care and attention to information in the style as the roman and make a strong focus in the paragraph. The bold weights are strong, and the Black weights are really experimental for the category.

Alegreya was chosen as one of 53 "Typefaces of the Decade" at the ATypI Letter2 competitors in September 2011 and valued with the Certificate of quality at the Latinoamerican Tipos Latinos 2012 biennial. It was likewise chosen in the second Bienal Iberoamericana de Diseño, competitors held in Madrid in 2010.
The pro variation of this famiy consists of 10 designs, all of them including Small Caps variations and a character set that supports a wide variety of languages including those from western, central and south eastern european, also afrikaans, vietnamese, pinyin and more.
