Publisher: Alter Littera
Alter Gotisch was developed by José Alberto Mauricio and released by Alter Littera. Alter Gotisch includes 1 style. p > This is Alter Littera's first original style. The font style has been produced by trying not to reproduce any historical typeface in specific, however only to re-create the general types and design of timeless black-letters from various time periods and locations. 2 particular sources need to be acknowledeged nonetheless: (1) the "Black" type from William Caslon's A Specimen of Printing Types (1785 ), and (2) the "Caslon Gotisch" type by D. Stempel A.G. (1926 ). In addition to the normal standard characters for typesetting in modern Western languages, the font consists of a comprehensive set of unique characters, alternates and ligatures, plus Opentype functions, that can be used for typesetting as in antique writings and printings. The glyphs are tidy, smooth and absolutely understandable, so the font will be ideal not only for large titles and headings, however also for full text pages.

Specimen, detailed character map, OpenType functions, and font samples offered at Alter Littera's The Oldtype "Alter Gotisch" Typeface Page.
