Alter Headletter Font
Designer: José Alberto Mauricio
Publisher: Alter Littera
Alter Headletter was developed by José Alberto Mauricio and published by Alter Littera. Change Headletter includes 1 style. p > This is Alter Littera's 2nd original style. It started as an attempt at equating into roman forms the lowercase metrics of traditional blackletters, in specific those of The Oldtype "Change Gotisch" Typeface. Ultimately, the style procedure led naturally to an innovative and contemporary re-creation of the overall kinds and design of classic vibrant condensed letters from the early twentieth century, specifically those of the "Century Strong Condensed" type from American Type Founders (ATF) Business's American Specimen Book of Type Styles, Jersey City, 1912 (pp. 274-7) [also seen in McGrew, M. (1993 ), American Metal Typefaces of the Twentieth Century, New Castle: Oak Knoll Books (pp. 76-7)]
In addition to the normal basic characters for typesetting in contemporary Western languages, the typeface consists of a detailed set of unique characters, alternates, ligatures and ornaments, plus Opentype features, that can be used for creating distinctive and appealing texts with virtually unlimited variations. The glyphs are tidy, smooth and certainly understandable, so the typeface will be ideal not just for big titles and headings, but also for full text pages.
Specimen, in-depth character map, OpenType functions, and font style samples readily available at Alter Littera's The Oldtype "Alter Headletter" Font Style Page.
