AnoStencil was designed by Gareth Hague and released by Alias. AnoStencil includes 4 designs and household package choices. p > Stencil typefaces are popular due to the fact that they stand out and ornamental, and their associations - whether Energy, Travel, Vernacular, etc - are evocative.

Anostencil is developed from, but not precisely like, our Ano typeface. Ano's geometric skeleton, modified a bit, enables a level of abstraction while maintaining legibility.

Some of Ano's characters, such as the a, e, f and r, have been changed to make clearer, more graphic shapes when the stencil design has been used. Different application of the stencil spaces in the letters make practical however ornamental and meaningful linear types. This is particularly obvious in Anostencil's extended character set which includes codified, semi abstract shapes.

So the stencil design in Anostencil has been used in not necessarily the most logical or instant way, but in a method that makes each letter a striking and graphic shape.
