There are times when a typeface is utilized so consistently that it ends up being rather synonymous with the subject it's utilized in.

The opening and end titles for the ABC-TV series "Naked City" (1958-1963) were set in a vibrant variation of a popular font replicating the look of calligraphic hand lettering.

Arcaro JNL is a somewhat lighter and somewhat modified variation of this typeface and is used in both routine and oblique versions.

The name Arcaro originates from one the routine characters in this superbly-written police drama, Investigator Frank Arcaro.
