Baksheesh was designed by Stuart Brown and released by HamburgerFonts. Baksheesh includes 12 designs and household bundle alternatives. p > The Baksheesh household comes in 3 weights with accompanying italics and little caps.

The driver for the advancement of the typeface came from the desire to create a contemporary household of constructed letterforms constructed upon a versatile system. The aesthetic of the typeface is influenced by the characters drawn by Wim Crouwel in 1976 for Olivetti's typewriter font that could support varying character widths, thus Baksheesh's faux-monospace appearance.

Each of the characters has been developed according to a detailed grid, assisting to rationalise the letterforms into a system that can be translated across the different designs. The versatility of the grid also permits optical adjustments to be made, for example stroke thinning at junctions and baseline/x-height overshoot for improved meaning throughout.

Baksheesh is suitable for setting small amounts of text as an appreciable and understandable headline font style.
