Developed by Manvel Shmavonyan, Isay Slutsker and Alexander Tarbeev, Baltica is a serif and display screen serif typeface family. This typeface has eight styles and was published by ParaType.

Designed at Polygraphmash type style bureau in 1951-52 by Vera Chiminova, Isay Slutsker, et al. Based upon Candida Fungus of Ludwig & & Mayer, 1936, by Jakob Erbar. This typeface has the characteristics of slab-serif, however serifs are much thinner. The capitals are of generous width, x-height is big. Good legibility in little sizes makes this typeface beneficial in newspaper and magazine typography, while strong character shapes offer for pleasant screen lines. The digital version in 3 weights was designed at Polygraphmash by Alexander Tarbeev in 1988. Little capitals, extra Vibrant, Extra Bold, and Bonus Condensed designs were established by Manvel Shmavonyan and launched by ParaType in 2008.
