Developed by Alejandro Paul, Bellissima Script is a script font family. This typeface has two styles and was released by Sudtipos.

While in the exact same vein and spirit as Burgues and Compendium, Bellissima started from an entirely different thread from those fonts. It started with Alex Trochut generously revealing me a beautiful lettering book from his grandpa's library: Bellezas de la Caligrafía, by Ramón Stirling, 1844.

Stirling was one of the Latin calligraphy leaders who presented an improved version of English calligraphy in Spain and made it popular in the nineteenth century.

Some scans from that book served as preliminary basis for the caps in my Poem Script. However it was always

in the back of my mind that I must do a copperplate, and the Stirling model was the perfect source.

My intention was to divert away from Stirling's abundant decoration, and work within streamlined types of his concepts. As it usually is with many of my tasks, Bellissima became its own bird and shaped its own flying patterns. All of a sudden there were numerous ligatures, several endings and swashed connections, numerous alternates for both uppercase and lowercase.

Bellissima has an effusive energy that appeals much beyond its sourcing. It's planned for these modern-day times of gratitude for old crafty things like stationery and letterpress, where its origins assist it shine brightly.

Bellissima Script Pro is a total typeface with practically 2000 characters loaded with alternates, swashes, ligatures & & ornaments covering a broad combination of latin languages and Bellissima Script Redux is a random sample of glyphs absolutely functional with a decreased price.
