Heidrich☞ Bona Nova is a collective revival project of Bona typeface created in 1971 by the author of polish banknotes Andrzej Heidrich. Besides providing the job a digital typeface form the aim was to expand the base character set: preparation of small caps, developing the alternative glyphs and multiple opentype functions. Collaborating with the author we designed two brand-new text variations: routine and strong-- to offer the household a type of a classic script triad. ☞ It is accompanied by 3 title variations and three shape styles under the name of Bona Sforza. All styles contains over 1200 glyphs.
☞ Bona Nova is an extraordinary typographic adventure for our group. We hope, that our work will allow the cultural heritage of Bona and the work of Andrzeja Heidricha to get new followers and fans. This project linked 3 generations of graphic designers who finished the very same school-- Academy of Great Arts in Warsaw.
☞ Bona Nova isn't just a typeface. After all we have actually prepared book about the job (consisting of, interview with Andrzej Heidrich, my text about digitisation and typeface specimen). Bona Nova understand celebration was big exhibition (over 1000 guests). I have actually welcomed 26 graphic designers to prepare their own initials of Bona Nova-- they was provided as posters on exhibition too.
