Publisher: Three Islands PressBucintoro is a modern variation of the rotunda blackletter, the Gothic book hand of Italy and Spain in the 14th, 15th, and 16th centuries. As the name indicates, it's more "rotund" than the high, angular Textur blackletter utilized in Germany that Gutenberg imitated. While the use of blackletter continued far into the 20th century in Germany and Scandinavia, the rotunda offered way to roman (and later on likewise italic) letterforms in Italy, France, and Spain. It's less well known nowadays. Bucintoro has upper- and lowercase alphabets, characters, punctuation, diacritics however does not have such modern-day characters as currency signs. Has light, medium, and black weights.
