I read an excellent book by David Mitchell, called Number 9 Dream. One of the characters is called Buntaro, so I chose to call my new inky font style after him.
Like the book, Buntaro is rather unusual: it has no real baseline, includes some unusual characters, feels familiar, however surprises you however. It was made with a damaged bamboo satay-skewer, Chinese ink and a lot of patience. Buntaro features a wealth of diacritics.
