Designed by Thomas Schostok, CA Capoli is a script typeface family. This typeface has two styles and was released by Cape Arcona Type Foundry.

CA Capoli is a great script typeface with a classic touch. Perfect for illustrative titles or logotypes. It comes in 2 styles, Regular and Stroke.

The inspiration came during our journey to Italy, where we took a brief rest in a bar throughout a hot day. We discovered a basic ceramic ashtray on the table. The word "Nido" was engraved in a typeface that appeared like it went back to the 1950s. We made some investigations about the word, its meaning and origin but it still remains a huge mystery. Was it the name of a hotel or a dining establishment or some vintage Italian cigarettes? We don't know.

We were so surprised about the design of the logo that we decided to produce a typeface out of it. A sophisticated endeavour due to the fact that we just had four letters. How could the rest of the letters-- if it ever existed-- have appeared like? Our hypothesis is CA Capoli. A typeface with a complete Central European character set and some great alternative letters to chose from.

When we thought of "Nido" and its possible derivation of hotel organization, we felt like producing a small side project for this typeface, a brand for a fictional hotel called Hotel Capoli with organization cards, letterheads, a reception book, key fobs and embroidered spots for the service gown of the hotel service things. The Hotel Capoli lies at the terrific beach of Cape Arcona on the imaginary country of Arcona Islands where our type foundry is located.
