Developed by Mark Butchko, Cadet is a screen sans and retro font style family. This typeface has 5 designs and was released by Central Type.

Cadet is a five weight, sans serif typeface household.

It began as a research study of the Bauhaus type styles of the 1970s, descendants of Herbert Bayer's speculative styles of the 1920s.

What I set out to accomplish with Cadet was a design that kept much of the character and charm of the style but remained rooted enough in traditional sans serif kinds to prevent ending up being excessively ornamental and abstract. Cadet is not based on or motivated by any single typeface but is instead an amalgamation of a few of my favorite elements of the design.

While Cadet might at first seem built with best geometry, subtle adjustments have actually been made throughout in order to get more natural, smooth, and well-proportioned letters.

Also, in order to include some flexibility I have actually included a number of stylistic alternates to specific letters.
