Vintage sheet music was at first a partial inspiration for what began as a basic retro typeface, but the basic hand-lettered style from the Art Deco age provided itself to some further experimentation. Geometric shapes were included to the original monoline letters and characters and completion result was a magnificent display face called Cafe Society JNL.
During the 1930s, "Coffee shop Society" was popular slang for the economically fortunate throughout the Great Depression who dined at great cafes while others who had the ability to eat in restaurants did so at diners and cafeterias.
Offered in addition to Cafe Society JNL is the original version, Coffee shop Society Monoline JNL.
