The font is based on the "Queulat" style yet includes a higher contrast, in between thick and thin strokes, that makes it look basic and appropriate for a larger variety of uses. Due to an abrupt contrast in stroke weight, Cagliari is more visible on terminals and teardrop terminals compared to Queulat. The Neogrotesk-style shapes include a minimalist touch to the typeface with thoughtful attention to detail.
