A funny thing happened when we included serifs to our very popular Center household: its appearance went from digital to analog. Perhaps it's due to the fact that slab serifs have their roots in 19th Century 'Egyptians,' or due to the fact that monoline serif deals with inevitably recommend typewriters.
In any case, we like its firm but a modest air of clarity, and hope its squarish rounds and angled arches offer a fresh method to the slab serif category. Center Piece can be bookish or jockish, casual or severe.
Like its sans companion, it uses 9 weights with matching italics, tabular figures that duplex throughout all weights, case-sensitive types, and a selection of cursive-style alternates. And obviously, it also supports over 130 languages.
