It is understood that the Circe typeface is differentiated by moderate and humanist nature being formally a geometric sans-serif. Nevertheless, as an experiment we decided to make it even softer: Circe now has a variation with rounded terminals - Circe Rounded.
Rounding is normally related to as a mechanical operation, but in this case a lot of manual modification was needed due to the fact that of the humanist nature and peculiarities of type style. Additionally, the two bold designs now have 2 choices: a fundamental one is slightly rounded and an alternate one is fully rounded.
In Circe Rounded we chose to dismiss characters with swashes that are rather unsuitable in such a rounded typeface, but the stylistic sets and alternate characters are remaining.
Rounded terminals make an open and friendly typeface a lot more childish. For example, in quite big point sizes (because the x-height is still not big) it can be used as a body key in infant books. Circe Rounded, similar to Circe, has alternative kinds of lowercase characters, which are called "baby" and are used in publications for kids's reading. Nevertheless, a humanist basis is preserved alongside with its softness and it does not enable it to be as "plasticine" as numerous other rounded fonts.
Two of the most apparent areas of possible application of Circe Rounded are everything for children and everything edible, particularly all that is sweet and puff. However, we believe that there are other alternatives.
