Designed by Alejandro Paul, Clockmaker is an art nouveau typeface family. This typeface has eight styles and was published by Sudtipos.

Sudtipos is happy to reveal the release of Clockmaker, an 8-weight family that takes preliminary motivation from typography around the turn of the twentieth century. Clockmaker takes visual references from Victorian, Art Nouveau and Art Deco marketing and typography, taking special impact from John F. Cummings' all-caps-- and never digitized-- type design Elandkay.

Clockmaker is a robust multi-weight family that consists of a range of ligatures in addition to alternate characters and support for all latin languages. The design process started with developing and updating the uppercase letterforms, followed by designing the lowercase and extra weights. Producing a diverse and lively set of uppercase ligatures was a practically constantly satisfying job; they are one of Clockmaker's many charming functions. Clockmaker is a remarkable choice for designs requiring a vintage style such as a luxury alcohol labels, restaurant identities, lavish hotels and numerous other applications where elegance and grace are needed.

In addition to its historical referrals, Clockmaker is a tribute to my grandpa who was a master craftsman, fixing antique clocks and fine watches with fantastic ability and mathematical precision. Watching him work was interesting and it has actually been a pleasure to bear in mind those quiet and curious moments from my youth while creating this typeface.
