Created by Patrick Griffin, Colville is a sans serif font family. This typeface has four designs and was released by Canada Type.

The Colville fonts started their existence in 2015 as a project-specific typeface, made to be used on a tailor-made headstone honoring Canadian artist Alex Colville (1920-2013) and his wife Rhoda Wright. For that function, some preliminary shapes were imitated letters Colville himself had utilized on a Guv General gold medal he designed in the mid-1970s.

.

From there started a year-long job that culminated in a set of 4 thorough typefaces ranging in weight from Light to Bold, each consisting of over 750 glyphs to cover Pan European language assistance, stylistic alternates, 5 sets of figures, automated fractions, and some accessories rooted in Alex Colville's art.

.

These fonts show a strong art deco visual that has actually always been a favourite of designers, metal casters, and sign makers. This is a really humanist geometry alternating from the specifically computed to the curvy and lithe, subtle contrast, flat stroke stops, and airy percentages that make for a counterspace developed for accommodation and comfort.

.

The breadth and classic humanism of the Colville set makes fit in a variety of applications, from simple headings, titles, and emphasis captions, to branding and packaging.
