Colville was designed by Patrick Griffin and published by Canada Type. Colville contains 4 styles and household plan choices. p > The Colville fonts started their existence in 2015 as a project-specific typeface, made to be used on a personalized headstone celebrating Canadian artist Alex Colville (1920-2013) and his better half Rhoda Wright. For that purpose, some preliminary shapes were imitated letters Colville himself had actually used on a Guv General gold medal he designed in the mid-1970s.

From there began a year-long project that culminated in a set of four thorough typefaces varying in weight from Light to Bold, each consisting of over 750 glyphs to cover Pan European language support, stylistic alternates, 5 sets of figures, automatic fractions, and some accessories rooted in Alex Colville's art.

These typefaces show a strong art deco visual that has constantly been a favourite of designers, metal casters, and indication makers. This is a really humanist geometry rotating from the exactly computed to the curvy and lithe, subtle contrast, flat stroke stops, and airy proportions that produce a counterspace developed for accommodation and comfort.

The breadth and classic humanism of the Colville set makes fit in a variety of applications, from straightforward headings, titles, and emphasis captions, to branding and product packaging.
