A year after the tremendous success of Memoriam in the "Lives They Lived" issue of the New York Times publication at the end of 2008, Patrick Griffin and Nancy Harris Rouemy collaborated as soon as more to take on the very same job for the 2009 issue. This time the publication's design principle focused on a typeface they produced particularly for custom-made vertical malleability, which can play simply as well in single- or multi-colour environments. The result was another renowned commemorative problem that reveals exotic tri-line letters merging, swashing, extending and flourishing in sensational gold, silver and blue on black on the cover, and in black on white on the inside pages. Much like in the previous year, the concern won multiple publication style and typography awards.
Crescendo is that typeface, lastly provided for retail by public demand. Simply turn your setting into describes in your favourite vector program, grab single strands and extend away, and do your best alternating colours between strands.
Crescendo comes with a minimal punctuation set, however accented characters for Western Latin languages are included, and there many, lots of alternates and ligatures in there also. This typeface is best used in big display sizes.
