The DIN Neue Roman includes something brand-new to the established principle of the DIN 1451 type's technical origin. As a serif equivalent it leaves its static appeal to bring some friendliness into this industrial concept. With more contrast than a piece serif and the vibrant stroke of transitional type DIN Neue Roman defies all conventions, but keeps its legibility.
To have sufficient resources for diverse and complex typography this type household provides 7 weights with italics, little caps and all kind of opentype features.
Type designer Philip Lammert likes to have fun with the terrific capacity of contradictions. That brought him to this style integrating two basically different classics. DIN Neue Roman belongs to his 2015's master thesis at the HAW Hamburg which was supervised by Prof. Jovica Veljovic.
