DNP Shueitai was released by DNP. DNP Shueitai consists of 17 styles and household bundle options. p > Shueitai is a typeface that has actually been going through advancement for more than a century, beginning with the days when Dai Nippon Printing Co., Ltd. (DNP) was still referred to as Shueisha.

As Japan went through quick modernization during the early years of the Meiji age, Shueisha, thinking that printing was an organization befitting a modern civilized society, started operations with a focus on letterpress. Soon the company broadened into developing its own typefaces. In 1912 it finished a full variety of Mincho type, in sizes from Sho-go (# 0 size, 42pt) through Hachi-go (# 8, 4pt), which it called 'Shueitai' a new style that came to form one of the two mainstreams of Japanese typefaces and continues to have a substantial impact on font design even today.

The Shueitai typeface is distinguished by abundant variations matching the size of type and the changing demands of the times. Whether it is the perky and effective Sho-go, the delicate and running San-go (# 3, 16pt), or the intense and solidly reassuring Shuei-Mincho L, all Shueitai typefaces share a dynamic brushwork that adds an expression of eloquence and a burst of luster to every printed word. Presently, Shueitai is composed of 17 kinds of typefaces helpful for different purposes.

The world has experienced vast changes in the environment surrounding the printed world, with the tran-sition first from letterpress to Desktop Publishing, and most recently to e-books. However no matter how this environment may progress, the composed word stays the basis of communication, and the value of stunning and legible typefaces stays unchanged.

In preparation for the changes that will inevitably come throughout the future, DNP will continue to develop the Shueitai styles from now on. Through its continuous reinvention, Shueitai, a typeface consistently embraced at the vanguard of the industry, perhaps represents Japanese development at its extremely best.
