The front page of a late-1940s sales catalog for the [now defunct] Duro Decal Company of Chicago had its business name hand-lettered in a high, condensed chamfered sans serif type design.
Although chamfered lettering had been popular for years, the method the ‘‘ R' was formed provided the letters a little bit of an Art Deco impact, and this impact was finished in the development of Durable JNL.
