The typeface is offered in both routine and oblique versions and was inspired by an example discovered in the 1928 edition of E.C. Mattthews' 'How to Paint Signs and Sho' Cards'.
Both squat and large for maximum use in wall and window applications, the original name for the design is 'Heavy Plug'. Plug was the sign painter's term at the time for explaining this kind of letter form.
