Emily Austin is a historic and script typeface published by 3 Islands Press.

Emily Austin simulates the penmanship of Emily Margaret Austin (Bryan) Perry, an early Texas colonist in addition to her sibling, Stephen F. Austin, for whom the state capital was named. Specimens were letters dating from 1837 up until 1851, the year of her death at 56. Emily was an indomitable lady who took a trip a lot and wrote numerous a letter house to her spouse-- each showing a distinctly compact, readable hand. Her Texas descendants still celebrate her birthday each June. The difficulty for me in creating this font style: resisting the temptation to read and re-read Emily's bossy instructions and urgent appeals, all packed tightly together on a page. OpenType functions consist of basic and discretionary ligatures, real fractions, lining and tabular figures, and support for Central and Eastern European languages.
