Escritura contains 20 styles and household plan alternatives. p > The handwriting typeface Escritura was produced for editorial functions and the letter kinds are influenced by chancery handwriting from the Italian Renaissance. The asymmetrical shapes of the undulating serifs cause the characters to have a big aperture. Originally created for display screen sizes, the typeface also can be found in a text version for little sizes. With taller vertical percentages, the text version has slightly longer serifs and increased white space in between the characters to optimize legibility in small sizes. Ascenders and descenders and serifs are much shorter in the screen variation, which has more economical letter spacing leading to an aesthetically compact text image. The tension in the letter strokes develop altering widths according to their direction, enhancing the calligraphic rhythm in the characters. The oblique crossbar in addition to other typographic information provide the typeface that common Renaissance environment.
