Expressway is a sans-serif font household inspired by the U.S. Department of Transportation's FHWA Series of Standard Alphabets, also called Highway Gothic. Considering that the middle of the twentieth Century, it's the font most used on roadway signs in the United States, Canada, Mexico, Australia, Turkey, Spain, Venezuela, the Netherlands, Brazil, Argentina, Taiwan, Malaysia, Indonesia, India, Mongolia and New Zealand.
Rather than rigidly following government specifications, Expressway is a more practical style that still hangs on to that roadway indication feeling. The full family has 7 weights, 2 widths plus italics for an overall of 28 styles.
In OpenType smart applications, you can access old-style (lowercase) numerals as well as monospaced numerals. Currency signs, mathematical symbols and fractions are monospaced, making it easy to establish catalog and other tabular numeric data. Practically all existing Latin based languages are supported, consisting of Cyrillic languages, Greek and Vietnamese.
