FF Hertz was designed by Jens Kutilek and released by FontFont. FF Hertz consists of 24 designs and family package alternatives. p > Low stroke contrast, generous spacing, and fine-grained weights from Light to Bonus Vibrant make FF Hertz a workhorse text typeface which holds up well under today's extensively varying output conditions from print to screen. The rather dark Book style works well on e-ink display screens which generally tend to thin out letters, as well as in print when you want to evoke the solid letter picture of the hot-metal type age. Two sizes of Little Caps are consisted of: A bigger size for abbreviations and acronyms, and a smaller sized size matching the height of the lowercase letters.

FF Hertz is a uniwidth style, that suggests each letter occupies the very same area in all weights. This function enables the user to change in between weights (however not between Roman and Italic designs) without text reflow.

Jens Kutilek started deal with FF Hertz in 2012. From a drawing exercise on a low-resolution grid (a technique proposed by Tim Ahrens to avoid messing with information too early), it soon progressed into a larger task combining a multitude of impacts which up till that point had just been drifting around in his head, including his mom's 1970s typewriter with its terrific numbers, Hermann Zapf's Melior along with his forgotten Mergenthaler Antiqua (an analysis of the Modern category), and old German cartographic lettering styles.

Jens likes to envision FF Hertz utilized in clinical books or for an edition of Lovecraftian horror stories.
