FF Spinoza was designed by Max Phillips and released by FontFont. FF Spinoza consists of 16 designs and family plan options. p > 11 years in the making, FF Spinoza is an elegant workhorse: crisp, durable, affordable, and versatile. It was named after 17th century thinker and lens-grinder Baruch Spinoza, who sought through both his occupations to help people see plainly. A traditional and extremely legible Antiqua, it was motivated by the rigor of mid-century German text faces like Trump Mediaval and the lucidity of Janson revivals like Monotype Ehrhardt. Its x-height and aperture are generous, its proportions are compact, and its contrast is reasonably low. Robust thin strokes and pronounced serifs and terminals make it ideal for setting in little sizes under difficult conditions, both in print and online. Quickly tapered junctures keep characters greatly defined and, in the much heavier weights, produce jazzing up light traps. Substantial shoulders sign up with branches and bowls strongly to their stems, which assists prevent the 'picket-fence' effect often developed by daintier typefaces. An extensive set of diacritics offers assistance for over 130 languages in the Pro version. Tabular figures are consistent in width across all weights to assist in the setting of columnar matter.
