Fibra was developed by Jorge Cisterna and released by Los Andes. Fibra includes 28 designs and family bundle options. p > The font style is really not a revival of 'Avant Garde'- by Herb Lubalin-but it takes its spirit. Fibra is a geometric sans serif, yet without the normal structural strictness of these kind of fonts, that represents experimental type design.

This can be seen in the contrast between curves and straight lines in some characters such as 'n' and 'h' unlike rounded ones such as 'a' and 'd'; information of some display screen characters (e.g. three upper terminals in 'W' and projection off the stem in 'A'); and exaggerated terminal in 'R'. All these features provide Fibra a strong personality-a sans serif typeface that 'offers you the chills'.

Fibra was specially created for display usage. The typeface has an extremely generous x-height that permits use in corporate text, thanks to its great readability. Fibra includes 2 subfamilies-a more 'typical' Standard family, with a smaller sized amount of stylistic features, for usage in subheadings or any other kind of text that requires procedure, and an Alt household that reveals off the real capacity of the font style, making it the best option for magazine headings, posters and logotypes.
