On February 15,1926, the Show Material Business of St. Paul, Minnesota, patented an indication making clothing consisting of a series of stencils in numerous sizes and designs, paints, brushes, guidelines for usage and all kept inside a convenient wooden case.
Sold to any company in requirement of making many signs at low cost, this versatile stencil set made it possible for lots of a merchant to produce posters, show cards and cost tags for pennies over what a business sign store would charge.
Floorwalker JNL is the digital variation of one of these stencil fonts, strengthened into a pre-Art Deco-era typeface.
