Gageac is a classic "Didona" typeface, characterized by an extreme contrast in the thick and thin strokes, by the use of brief serifs, and by the vertical stress of the letters. This typeface is somewhat condensed, the ascenders were lowered, the thick strokes were overstated and enriched with a complete set of OpenType functions of tails, ligatures, alternates and swashes, providing an excellent legibility and a very clear and sophisticated appearance. The italic variation is a true "italic" so some glyphs were changed. Gageac Italic was thoroughly designed and drawn to be combined with Gageac Regular.
