Created by Patrick Griffin, Gala is a sans serif and show sans font family. This typeface has fifteen designs and was released by Canada Type.

Article to appear on the font style household page: Gala is a digitization, correction, and significant expansion of a typeface called Neon, developed by Giulio da Milano and released by the Nebiolo foundry in 1935. Neon can be found in two weights, in addition to a shadow variation called Neon Ombra, and a "modules" version that consisted of a series of lines and cusps that might be used to build variations on the shapes and widths of da Milano's original kinds. It was an instant international success upon its release. One of the really first modular faces with a well-defined, minimal unicase construct, Neon is thought about a direct predecessor of Microgramma/Eurostile, and has inspired many designs throughout 3 type technologies. Pretty much every "techno" font style now out there has some Neon in it.

Canada Type's Gala series was initially published in 2005 and included 3 font styles-- straight revivals of the initial Nebiolo set. Over the years ever since, it ended up being quite popular, and went through many additions through custom-made commissions and unique tasks. A dozen years after the initial release, there were enough additional elements to prompt a review of the set. Gala was carefully redrawn, refined significantly expanded to include 4 weights in 3 widths, as well as 2-line, 3-line and Shadow typefaces. Each of its 15 font styles comes with numerous alternates and a solid 420-glyph character set for thorough Latin language support. So now Gala has actually become even more of a necessary designer device. Its tidy and airy shapes make for fresh and timeless settings, and its numerous widths and weights use a lot of versatility on design grids.
