Galería is a monoline piece serif typeface motivated by world modern art gallery buildings, museums and cultural centers where natural forms and straight lines predominate.
Galería combines functionality of a piece serif with the unique look of monospaced typefaces-- overstated serifs, large percentages, distinguishing characters, contrasting geometric shapes and lengthened terminals. This mix led to a dynamic and pregnant typeface, yet clear and functional, appropriate to museographic and editorial tasks, business usage, and strong brand name identity style such as posters, logotypes and packaging.
Galería consists of a standard and an alternative version, each in 8 weights-- varying from Thin to Black-- with matching italics. The font also includes OpenType functions, like discretionary ligatures, and the whole 464-character set supports more than 200 Latin-based languages.
