Developed by Dave Rowland, Galix is a sans serif typeface published by Schizotype Fonts.

In a world where every brand-new release is a thousand font style megafamily, it is an especially (extra) strong transfer to launch a single weight screen design. Maybe.

Galix is a super-elliptical, technical sans; futuristic while avoiding the retro look so often related to this genre. It is a font planned for the covers of sci-fi books. You could utilize it for other things, I suppose.

But back to the single design thing… … It's my simple viewpoint that large type families, particularly those "font suites" that are so de rigueur, lead to a staleness in design, where things all start to look a bit samey and the great art of type pairing is passing away. So license Galix, see how it works on its own, paired with contrasting typefaces, distorted and try out by you, the designer. It may just be the absence of flexibility you need to focus your style work! But if not, chances are I will extend the family to a series of weights, and should that occur, any updates will be free to early adopters. So go on, give it a shot and (additional) boldly go where-- you get the idea.
