Gargle is a hand drawn typeface family. This typeface has twelve styles and was published by Typodermic Typefaces Inc.

Gargle is a light, hand-drawn newspaper comic dialog typeface created to harmonize with an informal felt-tip pen style. However it's not just for comics. Gargle is also suited to mimicing the appearance of a casual fanzine, indie album notes or hand drawn signs.

Three widths are offered to allow word-fit flexibility. In pre-digital comic design, copy-fitting wasn't the only method to squeeze words into word balloons. If you look at old paper comics, you can see how some artists would squeeze and stretch words to make them fit into a word balloon. With Gargle's 3 widths, you 'll have some flexibility that you generally could not accomplish with a single width typeface. It's recommended that the bulk of your comic dialog is displayed using capitals. Sometimes, a lowercase letter looks proper in words such as iPAD or McKENNA. Lowercase can likewise be used to show reading, thought, radio, vocalizations, whispering etc. In comic dialog focus, italics aren't enough. Italics can still be used to indicate unique terms, radio or whispering however if you want to shout, you have a choice of vibrant or bold-italic. You 'll most likely find that the vibrant italic is the most effective method to emphasize specific words in a sentence while the upright bold works best for scream balloons or sound effects.

In OpenType savvy applications, Gargle's letters, characters, commas, concerns marks, exclamation marks and periods immediately shuffle a set of three variations to help create the impression of hand lettering.

In comics, typically, the only letter I is supposed to have serifs while an I in the middle of a word need to appear. Gargle includes OpenType programs which instantly adds serifs the I in words such as I, I'm and initials like M.I.A. Serifs are also added to the I when followed by a lowercase L for words such as Illinois. Naturally, the serifed I has 3 shuffled variations as well.

Gargle lets you create any fractions you like and contains a lot of mathematics symbols, simply in case your story gets a little mathematics heavy. Gargle consists of some useful comic signs, but you won't require to look them up in a glyph table. Just use the convenient shortcodes listed below and the sign will automatically be replaced. These shortcodes will even work in other languages.
