Inspired by both turn of the century neoclassical forms and Dutch Fleischmann Type, Garvis is developed to bring the character of those typefaces into more modern-day times by increasing the sturdyness of the types without losing their character.
At display screen sizes, this typeface displays the subtle inconsistencies frequently discovered in traditional metal type printing. This detail is designed to practically vanish at text size so as not to end up being sidetracking while still providing the text a warm, human quality.
Garvis consists of Little Caps, Lining figures (both proportional and oldstyle) as well as Cap-height proportional figures, language specific alternates, OpenType fractions, and support for all contemporary (and many historic), Latin Orthographies in addition to total IPA support.
