Geographica is an understandable, four-style serif family imitated the neat hand-lettered name and peripheral text on Jefferys's maps. With its long serifs, high x-height, and robust curves, Geographica in some way combines classic sophistication with a whiff of coastline and sea. The italic designs have the slant and heat of the hand-drawn source products. And the typeface features a variety of distinct map-based ornaments-including compass wheels and sailing ships.
This evocative serif works well in both display scenarios and long blocks of text, whether on paper or screen.
OpenType features consist of little capitals, numerous ligatures, and two stylistic sets of entitling caps. Geographica provides full assistance for Central and Eastern European languages-more than 1,200 glyphs in all.
