Giambattista is a long-time project of mine lastly come to an end.
After redesigning all of Giambattista Bodoni's work and after that some additional cuts I began a long time ago with this Non-Bodoni Bodoni.
The idea concerned me while upgrading the initial Chancellerosa (chancery). I believed Bodoni just didn't have the best approach to a chancery, this was just not his cup of tea! Perhaps that is why he never ever utilized the Chancellerosa quite for his own printshop in Parma. So I believed somebody has to design a script, that appears like Bodoni might have designed it but is more dynamic than his.
Over the years I have actually been dealing with and off on the face and it turned out to end up being three typefaces which can be easily mixed. Here is my modern-day version of a script in the design of Giambattista, indicated as an hommage, I called it Giambattista.
