Guenter was developed by Zakhar Yaschin and published by ParaType. Guenter consists of 4 designs and household bundle options. p > Guenter type got its name after Guenter Gnauck - the calligrapher from Eastern Germany whose works brought an inspiration and initial incitement for the design. However in contradiction to the calligraphic nature of the inspiration source Guenter has a specific building and construction that is built exclusively with straight stems.

Like KvadratZ household Guenter comes from so called 'in-one-touch' series. The first version in one basic style was developed by Zakhar Yaschin in 2001. In 2009 the typeface was upgraded with addition of 3 new designs and released by ParaType as a household.
